Mountain and Adventure, International Film Festival of Autrans
The Snow scene...
Respected throughout Europe, this International film Festival has been held in Autrans for the last 20 years.   The Festival has attracted some of the great adventurers including Jean-Louis Etienne and Bertrand Piccard (author of “around the world in a balloon”) and the most famous climbers of them all : Reinhold Messner. The list of stars who have participated in the festival is long and prestigious and further includes the alpinists : Boivin, Profit, Desmaison, Destivelle, Mauduit, Kukuczka. Throughout the many years of hosting this event we have managed to maintain a festival renowned for its sociable and lively atmosphere while maintaining its authenticity. Despite its growing notoriety the Festival remains a local enterprise which relies on many of its volunteers from the community who contribute to its success. Solo Singing Festival of Autrans
The villages of Autrans and Méaudre have the experience of hosting international events and wished to celebrate the magnificent autumn season in the Vercors by unifying themselves six years ago, to produce the Solo Singing Festival of Autrans. The "FESTIVAL DE LA VOIX SOLISTE" was born from the initiative of a group of music lovers, whose particular interest was in singing. Their idea developed into utilizing the “voice” as an instrument to create and express emotions.
Each year the Festival has presented a diverse programme. The audience has had the opportunity to enjoy the talent of the baritone Michele NIGRO, the Spanish music of Nuria Choq Mampel, listen to the public speaking of Frédéric Pagès or Vincent Leroy, laugh with the humorist Vincent Roca or listen to the 1001 nights stories, delightfully narrated by Nefissa Bennouniche, the emotion and creation of Hélène Poncet, Xing Xing CHENG, from China to Zermatt with the yodel, and has presented in 2004 the exceptional concert of Jordi Savall, Montserrat Figueras and Rolf Lislevand. 20 - 23 September 2007 www.voix-soliste.com

Craft and Antiques Fair
Sunday 7th September 2008, 30th edition. Over the last 29 years the « Craft and antiques Fair » of Autrans has become an annual meeting place. Held on the first Sunday in September we welcome thousands of visitors.  Each year brings new traders and exhibitors...   Don’t miss the « place des arts » where you can admire the old original craft techniques : Rope maker, stone mason, tapestry weaving, upholstering, wheelwright, wooden cutlery, bell maker, blacksmith, knife grinder.   For the last two years, « the ladies crafts » : darning, weaving, spinning, seamstress.	Still on the « place des arts », you can admire ancient agricultural machines and tools and even the very first tractors and collectors’ cars. Continuing the tradition, you can try and guess the weight of a large basket of traditional food specialities.
